Preparing for Smart Irrigation Month
July 2007

With growing demands straining water resources everywhere, it’s important to promote water-saving products, adopt “best practices”, and educate customers about how to do more with less. Smart Irrigation Month, this July, is the perfect time for the industry to promote a history of innovation and drive public awareness of the value of irrigation.

Support an industry campaign to
promote water conservation through
advanced technology and practices!

Much of the change in technology in the past few years has been in support of water conservation including the MP Rotator, pressure compensation in rotors and sprayheads, increased emphasis on drip irrigation, and water conserving features on control systems.

The Irrigation Association has created two websites designed to further promote Smart Irrigation Month: an industry-related website at http://www.irrigation.org/SIM/default.aspx?pg=industry.htm&id=230 and a consumer-related website at www.smartirrigationmonth.org.
