In This Issue:

Greetings From Kelties

I have missed writing in the past few months. My goal now is to send short announcements on a more frequent basis to keep you up-to-date on our menu, as well as what is going on in our little corner of the world.

I hope you are enjoying your summer... lazy days at the pool, vacations with the family, or simply having the neighbors for a BBQ. Some of my most fond memories as a child on the farm were harvesting the garden and canning with my mom. Get yourself ready for those days, they are right around the corner. We will be featuring several recipes in upcoming issues!

Our Great People

To continue in our tradition of sharing with you people who make our lives better, here is information about one of my dear friends, Chip McClean...

We have been working with Chip McClean of the Six Disciplines Leadership Center of Central Indiana. Chip is an extremely talented entrepreneur, business coach, visionary, and friend. He has taken us under his wing and is helping us to fine tune our mission. If you, or someone you know might be interested in the Leadership Center, I encourage you to check out their website at www.SixDisciplines.com/Indy... you won’t be disappointed.

If you love the coffee at the restaurant, that too is another business that Chip and his wife, Marianne, own. Beans for Better Life... it is a great story about a great product.

Etiquette Tip of the Month

A few everyday etiquette rules to share with your children...

  • Using the Magic Words: "please", "thank you", and my favorite, "may I please" instead of "give me" or "I want". Everyone likes to be appreciated and kind words are the first way to start.
  • Greetings: teach your children as soon as you can to greet people. It is very important to make eye contact and speak clearly. Say, "Hello, Mrs. Nelson" as opposed to a mumbled "Hi" while looking at the ground. This is such a valuable lesson for the future.
  • Interrupting: teach your children that interrupting is wrong. They must learn to respect other people's rights. Teach your child to wait for a break in the conversation before speaking. You are not doing them any favors when you stop your conversation to say "what dear". This will be a disservice to them later.

Etiquette classes for adults and children will be forming in early '08... please stay tuned for dates and times. Do you know someone who may be interested? If so, contact us now and receive a 15% discount on any class. We also conduct etiquette training classes for Brownie Troops, Boy Scouts, and Birthday Parties!

What's Happening

Well the rumors are true... we are moving!

But not far... just two doors down. Hey, isn’t there a song about that? We are moving into the hardware store formerly known as "Keevers Hardware". Matt and Cindy Keever sold the building to Jim Anderson of the Anderson Corporation in early '07 and we are thrilled to be the lucky new tenants.

Jim Anderson and his staff are making this endeavor the most exciting and eye-opening experience I have had in a long time. Jim is also a visionary and a great new friend... we are blessed to have him on our side.

The new "Kelties" is going to be beautiful, yet trying to keep some of the "old" feel. As promised earlier, we will be sending you photos of the progress and keeping you updated on our opening and upcoming festivities. Our tentative opening date will be Wednesday, September 12th.

A quick snap shot about the new restaurant services...

Lunch:
Tuesday through Saturday
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
~
Dinner finally arrives at Kelties:
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

We will also have a private room in the rear
of the restaurant which will be perfect

And the catering possibilities are endless!

More updates will be coming in a week or so...

Warmly,
Keltie
